The book is the one that I needed but overall, I am very disappointed. It was listed under "Good" condition and when it came to me, the back over as well as the whole index was torn in half. The book looked like it was a chew toy for a dog. The other books that I ordered came just fine so maybe it was just the seller of this book that falsely advertised that the book was new. But I'm still not happy.

Claudia V. Angelelli is Chair in Multilingualism and Communication at Heriot-Watt University, UK. Her publications include Medical Interpreting and Cross-cultural Communication (2004) and Re-visiting the Interpreter’s Role (2004). She is the co-editor of Testing and Assessment in Translation and Interpreting Studies (2009).

Brian James Baer is Professor of Russian and Translation Studies at Kent State University, USA. He is founding editor of the scholarly journal Translation and Interpreting Studies and author of the monograph Translation and the Making of Modern Russian Literature (2015). He is also the co-editor of Russian Writers on Translation (Routledge, 2013).

I have not read this book completely, but I read many parts of it. It is really helpful and up-to-date. Great efforts have been exerted by the editors to make this really readable, addressing researchable areas in addition to research methodology. Each essay is accompanied by a carefully selected list of references for further reading. There are not many books available on research in translation studies, but this book - I think- is the best so far. Whether you have a topic that you want to research but not sure how to start, or you want to start but you do not know what the researchable areas are and how to research them; this book will speak to you and be your perfect guide.

Worked for me!

On my first practice test, I scored a 150, and after using the Exam Krackers study program, I scored a 166 on my actual LSAT - first time taking it. I went onto the Exam Krackers website and followed their Quick Prep home study program. The program covers over 800 questions and requires The Next 10 Actual, Official LSAT PrepTests book. I did every one of those problems, as well as a few extra when I was struggling with one skill or another. Overall I think this is a great prep set, but be aware that it does not have a lot of practice questions. However, if you are dedicated, and spend the time reading and them practicing the techniques on past tests, you will do well.

Basic and Rigid

If you're struggling to get into the 160 range and would be happy with a 160 on the official test, this may be a good book for you. I found the information very straightforward throughout, but to the point of being obvious at times. Some of the stuff they tell you will not improve your technique. The book even offers you explicitly rigid rules to follow for every question, meaning the techniques that you might come up with on your own (because they are better suited for your mind) are supressed.

I got a 153 on my first practice test, my recent practice tests are consistently around a 168. I can honestly say doing the official preptests and questions and avoiding 'strategy' is why I'm still rising. Buy this book if you'd be happy with a decent score (160ish). If you want the best (and I mean 170 range), this book is not going to get you there.

I have several different LSAT prep books and the examcrakers is by far the best. The best way to prepare for taking your LSAT is to take a class. I didn't have the money to spend on a class but exam crackers comes with 2 different syllabus options on their website. It gives you homework for extra practice and gives you a day-by-day schedule. I needed the direction and it helped alot!! I think this worked better for me than the powerscores books.

just fantastic

I will mirror close to everyone else who has reviewed this product in saying that if it was spiral-bound it would go from being a great book to a near-perfect book. But the occasionally difficult-to-manage perfect binding is not a major deficit to a very well conceived and organized book. Not only are the asanas arranged according to general bodily position (sitting, standing, etc), but they also are arranged in a sequence that flow, so the following is one that would realistically be something that would follow the preceding. So you can intuitively hash out where the position you want is without having to return again and again to the index. At least that's my experience.

Each asana is also labeled with lead ins, variations, and other helpful information, and many of the more complex ones have the sequence to enter it. Every single thing in the book is accompanied by good, full color, unambiguous photographs to compare against. If I lost it I would buy another copy. I think that's about the best praise I can give a book like this.

Love That I Can Travel with It Easily

As someone who is just starting her yoga practice, I wanted a book I could carry with me while I travel and refer to often. I found that in The Yoga Bible by Christina Brown. This small manual packs a mighty punch by explaining the different limbs of yoga as well as 150 poses. I was especially interested in the Sun Salutations because they seem like something I can do easily despite having a back injury.

The book has full color photographs that accompany the text making it easy to visualize a pose before trying it out. The bible can easily be carried in a handbag or gym bag. I have mine in with my yoga mat so I can review it often. I'm a big fan of small books and love the meditation guide I have that is a similar size. I feel like this is a good resource for anyone wanting to learn yoga poses or brush up on their yoga postures after a hiatus.

A simple approach to facing your fears and learning to live

I"m not a huge reader of self-help books. I find most of them either obvious or sort of condescending. Like "just do these simple things to feel better."

But somehow this book is different. It feels like a normal person just talking to you and pointing out stuff you have kind of been aware of but have never really focused on before.

I think this book has the potential to help a lot of people!

7 Cups for the Searching Soul is an easy yet very informative and eye-opening read. Some of the information consisted of ideas that had never been explained to me by counselors or doctors. Reasons for your emotions and feelings were outlined as well as ideas to help with ones that feel unpleasant or negative. All without spending much...or any...money. The style was conversational and everything presented in a way that is easy for anyone to understand. I know I will refer back to this book often as well as share it with family and friends.

A elementary overview of Steve Jobs

I thought the book provided a general overview of what Apple was like under Steve Jobs. That being said, if you follow the company closely, this book presents no real insight that hasn't already been reported or speculated on in the news.

The book is a very easy read, simple and straight forward and would recommend it for anyone who doesn't want to go through the 600 pages of the official Jobs biography. Case in point, I don't really view Inside Steve's Brain as a biography. Instead, it expands on the often reported (urban) legends that surround Apple and Steve Job's. While the information is sourced, don't expect to get anything too official from inside Apple.

Leander Kahney runs a great blog (Cult of Mac) and a lot of the information in this book has been published there.

One more of those Job's books that depreciated in value once Isaacson's biography came out

Before Walter Isaacson's epic Steve Jobs biography there was nothing official about Job's life, it was just a lot of books trying to deconstruct his life and figure him out. Job's had always avoided media exposure of his personal life into the public and this surrounded him with a halo of mystery that fascinated everyone. That is why every single hint of his personality created and will keep creating for decades great curiosity on his life and way of thinking. Inside Steve's Brain is a book that pretends to construct the puzzle of Steve Jobs from a more psychological perspective based from Job's quotes on press and magazine articles to interviews found all over the web. The author does a great Job into deconstructing Job's personality from the bits and pieces available at the time and gives the Apple fan more reasons to love the brand. However once you read Isaacson's biography you realize that most of what you read about Job's was loosely right and accurate. You cannot beat first hand recount of someones life when reading a biography.

This is a book I believe had great value before Isaacson's biography, but currently it's value is more entertaining than accurate in terms of getting into more details of Steve Job's personality. If you are a Job's fan and want to get into a different perspective of Job's I can recommend this book!

excellent biography of jobs

This was a mesmerizing read. It is one of a few books that I read and read again. I knew I little bit about Jobs and learned some VERY interesting things from this book. Let me be specific. First, the killer application for Apple 11 (VisiCalc) was new to me.The fact that this killer application caused the sales of Apple II to go from less than 1 million dollars in 1977 to 49 million in 1979 was fascinating.
I knew that the Ipod was selling well, but had no idea that by March 2009 it had sold 163 million, and that it was on track to sell over 300 million by the end of 2009.

His description of Apple opening retail stores in 2001 (and their subsequent success), after Gateways failure, was quite interesting.

I knew Rubenstein was important, but Kahney's description of his finding the 1.8 inch hard drive in Tokyo, and it's role in the Ipod was again fascinating.

I am aware that there are many biographies of Jobs, but I am VERY GLAD I bought this one.

I think that there are some wrong proofs in this book.

In the chapter 2 (operations on fuzzy sets), section 2.5 I found some wrong theorems. For instance Theorem 2.8 contain an false partial result: u(a,0)=a. We can define an fuzzy union that satisfy the axioms U1-U4 and does not fulfills the above mentioned condition. So I think that are needed some modifications in the axioms of union and intersections.

About the Author
Simon Furman is a comic book writer, particularly associated with of a number of notable Transformers comics for Marvel UK, Marvel US, Dreamwave, and most recently, IDW. He also wrote the final episode of the Beast Wars: Transformers cartoon, the Transformers Ultimate Fan Guide, and several convention exclusive comics and novellas.

I have enjoyed all of the Titan Comics Dragons books. The stories read much like the TV series. The art is excellent, even if proportion is occasionally sacrificed. It's a comic! Looking forward to the next series.

I got this book from my friend RJ at secret santa at school. My note (that he got) said I would like a comic book of any kind and he got me this and a Star Wars Rebels comic book. This is a great and funny book. :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) I would rate this book at a scale 1- 100 I would say 84%

A semester abroad during his undergrad at the University of Notre Dame opened his eyes to the fascinating world of independent, budget travel and the need for the next generation of travel tips and tricks became painfully clear to him. Upon winning Notre Dame’s annual business plan competition with an idea for a student tour company, Andy launched Weekend Student Adventures in 2010 and now has guides and itineraries all across Europe.

A Useful and Detailed Travel Guide Not Just for College Kids

I have been a fan of Rick Steves for years, jealously watching his excursions on PBS, wishing I was there myself... which led me to finally begin planning my own trip to Europe a couple of years ago. Rick has nothing short of a plethora of information in his shows, classes, website, and YouTube channel, however, many of his suggestions and preferences just don't fall within my price range or interests. When I heard his son Andy had written a book, I'll be honest and say I wondered if it would be something that was actually useful to me, or if it was more of a thing where he got to write a book simply because of who his father is. I am very happy to say it's the former. Being Gen X and not a Millennial, and because I will only be visiting two of the thirteen cities featured, I also wondered if there would be enough in the book to make it a worthwhile purchase; I truly feel there is. While not everything in Andy's book applies to me (i.e. we don't plan on staying in hostels), so much does (i.e. how to maximize your time in each city within a couple or three days).

I was fortunate enough to meet Andy this summer as well as attend one of his travel classes; he embodies the same friendly and inviting "let me take you along" nature and appreciation for culture that his father has, but with a fresh and perhaps more lively approach. (Side note: for those of you who can travel to Edmonds, WA, I highly suggest visiting the Rick Steves Travel Center and attending some of their FREE travel classes held on Thursdays and Saturdays.) Andy's target market and audience are college students, therefore as a single mother, my financial status is obviously my biggest commonality. His approach to these excursions in Europe is to enjoy as much as possible that falls within your interests and your means. Perhaps that approach is not entirely unique, but most books I've encountered, even Rick's, seem to expect you to have a budget from an income bracket far above my own. Right off the bat, each city featured has a little section in the margin called Calibrate Your Budget, which highlights the "typical" price for a hostel dorm bed, two-course dinner, pint of beer, bicycle rental, and single metro pass. Above that you can find Know Before You Go (Key Stats & Figures) and below that you can find Movies to Watch - I loved the latter because it gives me a way to entertain myself while I count down the days to my departure.

The book is in full color and each city is color coded which is perfect for someone as OCD as me. Each city also has a map, detailing popular/must-see attractions, museums, eateries, hostels, metro/underground stations, etc. Each city also features a three day itinerary, what things to plan ahead for (i.e. which places you'll want/need to have reservations), different passes, events/festivals, day trips, etc. Everything is well organized - there are sections for things like Top Sights, Top Neighborhoods, Top Eats, Transportation, Help, etc. - and the headers/subsections are well marked which makes it easier to find what you're looking for when you need it. Other features include [City Name] 101 which gives you a quick rundown of the city, and Act Like a Local which gives you a bit of insight into certain traditions, foods, etc. Be sure to read through the introduction which not only explains the best way to use the book, but is chock full of useful information; the same goes for the appendix.

All in all, this book is a great resource if your time and/or budget is limited. If you are a Millennial, regardless of your economic status, this book is definitely for you. If you're a bit older, like me, it's a candid look into what to expect in your travels, as well as some genius ways to save some money while abroad. And, if you're a parent taking your child, as I am, it gives you a better perspective of what the younger generation finds of interest so you can fit some of those items into your itinerary. That said, if drinking, hostels, and the "nightlife" aren't your scenes, I would encourage you to consider some of Rick Steves' books (and free classes & info online) as well, however, there is plenty in Andy Steves' book to spark your interest, plan your itinerary, and guide you through these European cities on its own.

LOVE LOVE LOVE this book! Perfect. I'm definitely taking this to Europe. If you're into using your smartphone, this is the book for you. If you also want to have fun in the day and at NIGHT, read this book. There are so many unique gems in here. Andy Steves is SO knowledgeable. This book is awesome and different...an absolute MUST for your trip!
